Here is what my Bible tells me I should have: “Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ” Phil 2:5 Which attitude of Christ? If you keep reading you will find the following in the verses that follow:
He made Himself nothing
He was obedient to the point of death
He humbled Himself
He took the nature of a servant.
This is the attitude of Christ my Bible says I SHOULD have. We live in a culture that aggressively discourages attributes like humility, obedience, honesty, kindness etc... In such a culture you have to be very defiant to value and pursue these virtues. It takes a lot. But, you know what? it is worth it. These are the very things that the Holy Spirit wants to give us. The Bible calls them the fruit of the Spirit.
