What Is Your Definition Of Victory

“Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” Rom. 12:21.

Notice how it says “Do not BE overcome” and not “do not overcome”.  Because even when you think you have overcome evil with evil,  you are actually being overcome by it.  People try to overcome evil with evil but evil never overcomes evil.  It only multiplies it.  Jesus said,  “If Satan is divided against himself, how can his kingdom stand?”  Luke 11:18

When we fight with one another the devil wins and everybody else loses.  Even the winner of the fight loses.  True victory is when you defeat the devil, not people.   And the only way to do that is to follow the footsteps of Jesus.  Where Jesus reigns is where the devil is defeated.

Some people may need to rethink their definition of victory.  Otherwise, they may think they are winning when they are losing and losing when they are winning.  The apostles were the greatest losers of all time by the standards of the world but they claimed to be more than conquerors.  It is all about how you define victory.

What is your definition of victory?
