A while back I was typing on MS Word and part of what I typed was a verse from 1 John Chapter 1 that says “God is Love”. At the end I had to run my document through a spelling and grammar check. The computer stopped me where it says “God is love”. It didn’t like it. Instead, it suggested “God is loving”.
Now, that was an actual Bible verse but it did not make grammatical sense to MS Word. So I had to choose between the Bible and MS Word. I definitely chose the Bible.
This is a very simplified yet very good example of what happens everyday in our lives. The world always offers ideas, explanations and solutions that make logical sense and are very tempting but are contrary to the Word of God. Do you know that logical doesn’t always mean true? Yes, logic is a means by which we test the truth but it is a very limited tool. If you use it without knowing its limitations, it can be disastrous. The truth is that something can be utterly logical and utterly false at the same time or vice versa.
Knowing the limits of your logic, your understanding and your intellect is a very important logical step.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” Pr 3:5
