From John 3:16 TO 1st John 3:16 VIA Romans 13:1

John 3:16 is central to the message of the Gospel. It is probably the most quoted Bible verse and appropriately so. It says: “God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son that whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life”.

That is how we came to know Jesus and be reconciled to God. We should be aware, however, that Christianity does not stop at John 3:16. That is just the beginning. As we mature we should move on to 1 John 3:16. Written by the same John it says: “This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers”.

In Romans 13:1 Paul says: “No debt should remain outstanding except the continuing debt to love one another”.

My friend, we have a debt of love, i.e., the love we received in John 3:16. Let’s go through Romans 13:1 to 1 John 3:16 and lay our lives for our brothers and sisters. I hope you are not stuck on John 3:16 and still hating someone, somewhere. You don’t want the Bible to call you a liar. “If anyone says, “I love God,” yet hates his brother, he is a liar.” 1 John 4:20

Blessings,

The Cyber Evangelist
